Premium Athletic Activities

Instructional Activities

Instructional Activities may be used to fill electives during the first two periods of the day. Due to the cost of special instructors and/or equipment, a premium above the normal camp cost is charged for the following activities:

Cooking/Nutrition: Our culinary chef will provide hands on experience while teaching the campers how to prepare a variety of fool-proof recipes. Campers will learn everything from basic skills in the kitchen, to hands on preparation. If you love food, you will love this class! Price: $375

Horsemanship: Campers can learn how to ride, vault, jump, and even play polo, as well as how to care properly for horses and riding equipment. No previous experience is required. Horsemanship has one instructor to every five riders and classes run for two (2) weeks. Price: $425

Marksmanship: Our basic rifle marksmanship course is designed to teach the fundamentals, principles and techniques of competitive riflery, using a combination of air and small bore rifles. The course will culminate in an actual Olympic stand small bore rifle match in which each student will participate at the end of their course. Marksmanship runs for 2 weeks. Price: $375

Mixed Martial Arts: This course introduces the camper to the martial arts. Emphasis is placed on acquiring a basic knowledge of self-defense techniques. Price:$275

Sailing: Travel to Marsh Creek State Park and learn how to sail! Beginner and intermediate sailors are welcome. During the course you will learn how to sail and handle small boats, become competent in sailing small vessels, and sail solo around the lake. Sun fish, sailfish, day sailors and catamarans are used for instruction. PLEASE NOTE: Sailing program is a double period and will conflict with academic programs, if taken. Price: $400

S.C.U.B.A: Participation in the scuba diving course will result in a lifetime certification in basic underwater scuba diving. Course outline will follow PADI certification standards and requirements. S.C.U.B.A. runs for 3 weeks, therefore you will need to select 3 more activities for the other weeks of camp, one of which will only last a week long. Price: $700 (includes  mask, fins, snorkel, booties and books. If your child wishes to do the open water dive for certification, an additional fee is required.)
